Brains On! LIVE - Your Brain is Magic
Get ready for a science lesson that feels like a party!
Brains On, the wildly popular podcast for kids, is hitting the road with an all new science-themed show that takes the audience on an adventure through our brains. And they’re stopping off in Los Angeles to be a part of KPCC’s Public Radio Palooza.
Hosts Molly Bloom (she/her), Marc Sanchez (he/him) and Sanden Totten (he/him) take the stage at the Aratani Theatre on May 1st with magic tricks, dance moves, out-of-body experiences, mystery sounds, and even a game show! All the while, kids (and their parents) learn how our brains take a handful of signals from the eyes and ears and turn them into a vibrant picture of the world.
Special VIP tickets packages will be available and include a post-show meet and greet with a photo opp and book signing with the hosts!
About the Brains On! Hosts
Molly Bloom (she/her) is the host of Brains On! She also hosts our spin-off show, Smash Boom Best. Molly loves finding out about the way things work — whether it’s a glass factory or our brains or molecular bonds. She likes playing piano, sings in a choir and wishes that people would break into song and dance like they do in the musicals that she loves. She was always the shortest one in her class and has worn glasses since the third grade.
Marc Sanchez (he/him) is a Brains On! producer. He gets a kick out of music, technology, and writing. If he’s not playing drums or concocting noises for Brains On!, you might see him in ridiculous, Day-Glo clothing, running around the lakes and rivers of Minnesota or scouring the city in search of the world’s best burrito. You have his permission to sneak up behind him and scream, “Brains On!” if you ever see him in a taqueria.
Sanden Totten (he/him) writes and reports for Brains On! His favorite subjects are obviously dinosaurs and space, but he really enjoys studying the brain and the environment too. He has a rad collection of comic books, he can jump a curb on a skateboard and his favorite food is sushi. If you see him around, say hi and ask for a high five.
Health & Safety: Proof of vaccination for everyone age 5 and older and masking for everyone age 2 and up will be required at this event.
