The long-awaited sci-fi adventure film “Dune” finally hits theaters this week after several release delays. Director Denis Villeneuve adapted the film from Frank Herbert’s classic 1965 novel. Villeneuve has been a fan of the book since he was a teenager and says “Dune” may be the most personal in his filmography yet. KPCC’s John Horn talked with Villeneuve about the making of the film and why the theatrical experience is so important to him. “Dune” is in wide release and available to stream on HBO Max. It’s rated PG-13.
