Triple Play Dodgers Force Game Six 10.22.21

Have a night, Chris Taylor!

The slugging outfielder has already established himself with fans as a playoff darling after his home run lifted the Dodgers to a bottom-of-the-9th, walk-off win in the National League Wild Card Game against the Cardinals. In Thursday’s win-or-go-home Game 5 of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium Taylor rose to the occasion when it mattered most once again, swatting three homers and driving in six on the way to an 11-2 Dodgers win to stave off elimination. The Braves still lead the series 3-2.

The celebration will be short-lived for the Dodgers and their fans -- the team is far from out of the woods. Friday the two teams travel back to Atlanta to prepare for Game 6 on Saturday, where Mad Max Scherzer will be on the bump for Los Angeles against the Braves’ Ian Anderson when the first pitch is thrown at 2:08p PT.

Should the Dodgers win, the series would remain there for a deciding Game 7 on Sunday. Walker Buehler is expected to start that game for the Dodgers if they can force Game 7.

Today on AirTalk, the Triple Play with Larry, KPCC “All Things Considered” host Nick Roman and sportswriter and author Molly Knight grab some pine to recap last night’s clutch win for the Dodgers and look ahead to Game 6 in Atlanta.
