Google  is stepping up its game in the virtual reality world.

At the company’s conference for developers in the Bay Area this week, I/O 2016, Google introduced Daydream, a virtual reality headset with accessories that are designed to work with smart phones using the Android operating system.

Google had previously introduced a cardboard VR viewer to use with your smart phone. This upgrade is designed to compete with Samsung’s Gear system at the entry-level for virtual reality users.

To get the lowdown on Google’s new system, we called on Ina Fried. She’s the senior editor covering anything having to do with mobile devices for ReCode.
