Coronavirus: Charter School PPP
50 different organizations running charter schools in the L.A. Unified School District have received PPP loans totaling at least $73.6 million -- and perhaps as much as $136.7 million, according to our review of federal data and schools’ own board documents. These 50 PPP recipients collectively run more than half of the 224 charter schools in LAUSD.

Coronavirus National Guard
Soldiers from the National Guard have been deployed across the country to assist overwhelmed health departments and skilled nursing facilities hit hard by COVID-19. In California, soldiers are also traveling the state running mobile pop-up testing sites. KPCC's Emily Elena Dugdale reports.
