An LAUSD board meeting in February.

It’s been a month since L.A. Unified school teachers and their union reached an agreement ending their six-day strike.

Against that backdrop, voters in Northeast and Southeast L.A. will cast ballots next week to fill an open seat on the district’s school board.

Ten candidates are in the running to represent Board District 5 in a primary election on Tuesday, March 5. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two finishers will advance to a runoff election in May.
