Commuters who regularly take the Gold Line should expect delays on Monday afternoon due to maintenance on power lines that were damaged over the weekend, according to Metro.

Those delays will add about 15-20 minutes to riders' commutes, Metro spokesman Rick Jagger told KPCC. He recommends spreading out on the passenger platforms to reduce boarding times and visiting Metro's blog for updates

Repairs started at 3:30 p.m., Jagger said. Trains from the Atlantic to Fillmore stations will run about every nine minutes, while trains from Atlantic to the APU/Citrus College station will arrive every 18 minutes through the end of service, Jagger said.

Trains were sharing the northbound track at the Del Mar, Memorial Park and Lake stations. Trains were using three cars — instead of the usual two — to reduce delays and accommodate more passengers, Jagger said.

Maintenance crews were out trying to restore the power and get the overhead wires repaired. It was unknown what caused the damages, with no timeline for when the repairs would be completed.
