1. Grand Performances: "Prejudice and Pride"
Grand Performances kicks off its 30th year of bringing entertainment to downtown L.A. and this year features a special series, Evolución L.A.tino. The inaugural event explores social and racial issues through the lens of "Prejudice and Pride," a documentary that looks at the transformation of Chicano culture through 1960s and '70s activism.

2. L.A. Pride

Though its famous for its free parade, which starts at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning and runs along Santa Monica Boulevard from Crescent Heights to Robertson, Pride weekend offers plenty more opportunities to sport your rainbow attire. Musical headliners include Carly Rae Jepson and Charli XCX on the main stage but there will also be a Latin music and hip hop stage where you can dance the weekend away.

3. LA Weekly’s Tacolandia

Although Southern California has no shortage of go-to taco joints, this extravaganza is back for its fourth year and gathers the best for a night of tortilla-wrapped bliss. Munch on bites from more than 100 taco vendors — to be washed down with cocktails and beer — while live mariachi and cumbia bands set the mood. Giants of the SoCal taco scene like Loteria Grill and B.S. Taqueria, among others, might convert any burrito-loving Angeleno.

4. World Naked Bike Ride Day

Technically, public nudity in California is illegal but this is one of the rare exceptions. Bare riders will be escorted through the city by the LAPD — just remember to follow their rules. Complete your daily workout while burnishing that summer tan in any degree of undress that you like.

5. Cindy Sherman: Imitation of Life

If you have yet to visit DTLA's newest arts hub, now's your chance. Visit the Broad on opening day of this exhibition and be one of the first to see 120 showcased works by Cindy Sherman. Pro tips: Unfortunately, tickets to this exhibition do not automatically guarantee admission for the coveted Infinity Mirrored Room installation by Yayoi Kusama. Remember to book your tickets way in advance — they're expected to go fast.

6. Santa Ana Street Breakfast

The outdoor food fest honors an OC tradition that dates back to 1928. Inspired by the original Santa Ana Fiesta del Oro Street Breakfast, this event will feed hundreds of local residents with either chilaquiles or pancakes along with a beverage — a worthy alternative to the usual Sunday brunch.

7. Made in L.A.
The third iteration of L.A.'s biennial art exhibition features more than two dozen artists working throughout Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. The ongoing series a, the, though, only will bring together artists whose disciplines span dance, fashion, literature and more. Check out the the creations, which include displays of multiyear projects, the premiere of new bodies of work and brand new pieces from emerging artists. 8. Viva SGV

If you prefer not to bare your bits, this one's for you. This mass biking event will cover five miles in the San Gabriel Valley. Feel free to take a break along the route and hit up the art workshops or food trucks to reenergize. Work-out junkies can keep those juices flowing with zumba classes and obstacle courses at various activity hubs.
