Massive NASA fuel tank cruises through Los Angeles

ET-94, the massive space shuttle fuel tank from NASA, is making its way from Marina del Rey to the California Science Center today.

The 66,000-pound tank's journey required 30 engineers to figure out how it will sojourn through the streets of Los Angeles, where along with affecting 50 of the city's intersections, it will also have to make two epic turns.

KPCC's Kevin Ferguson checked out the tank and provided this shot:

The tank was expected to arrive at the science center at 7:30 p.m. You can also look at some photos in a slideshow at the top of this story.
