Get lost inside the pages of a dusty book and celebrate your shared love of independent bookstores during the first statewide annual California Bookstore Day event this Saturday.

93 independent bookstores will be participating.

For the nearest participating bookstores click here. Several Southern California bookstores—DIESEL, A Bookstore, Skylight Books and Book Alley—will be participating in the one-day event:

13 exclusive books and art pieces will be on display at various bookstores. Items will include "Punk Rock Writer's Journal" by Wendy McNaughton; "Congratulations, By the Way," a special edition book by George Saunders; an original Lemony Snicket print, and a signed "Hugo" lithograph from illustrator Brian Selznick, among other gems.
Get creative and download your own specialized California Bookstore Day bookmark before heading over to your favorite SoCal bookstore here.
