Israeli PM's visit expected to cause closures, traffic tie-ups
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be in the Southland through Thursday, and authorities warned the public of traffic tie-ups on Los Angeles' Westside.
"We will be having what we call rolling closures, which means that some of those streets and routes will be closed temporarily for shorts periods of time. And as soon as motorcade passes those areas we will open up those streets and thoroughfares as quickly as possible," LAPD Lieutenant Andy Neiman said.
Among the areas that will be impacted by those rolling closures is the 405 Freeway between Wilshire Boulevard and the 105 Freeway. There will be a temporary closure at some point between 3:30p.m. and 4:30p.m. Santa Monica Boulevard will also be affected about the same time between the 405 and Melrose Avenue.
