LAX traffic: Terminal 3 reopened; possessions abandoned during shooting can be reclaimed

Travel to and from Los Angeles International Airport continues to be impacted by the shooting and shutdown of the area Friday. Airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles told Associated Press that over 15,000 flights and 167,000 passengers have been affected so far.

Terminal 3, where the shooting took place was reopened at 1 p.m. Saturday, but law enforcement officials continue their investigation. If you're planning to fly in or out of LAX, you should check with your respective airline for information, and follow @LAX_official on Twitter for new information.

Traffic around the airport appears to be moving smoothly Saturday. You can check a map of live traffic conditions below.

Update 1:15 p.m.: "Terminal 3 is now fully open and operational"

L.A. airport spokeswoman Gina Marie Lindsey said at a press conference this afternoon that Terminal 3 "is now fully open and operational."

Passengers should continue to check information from their airliner. Jet Blue flights are expected to continue operating out of Long Beach Airport until later this evening, Lindsey said.

She added that most terminals are reporting operations have returned to normal, but they are "very very busy."
