Monday marks 19 years since O.J. Simpson led police on an infamous low-speed chase in a white Bronco, after he allegedly killed his ex-wife Nicole. Simpson had arranged to turn himself in the morning of June 17, 1994, but never showed. He instead led the police on a 35-mile-per-hour pursuit with his friend A.C. driving the SUV. Simpson ultimately surrendered to authorities.
Another historical note: Mayor-elect Eric Garcetti’s father Gil was the district attorney at the time; his office prosecuted the Simpson case.
