To mark the 133rd anniversary of his birth, the works of Albert Einstein were uploaded Monday to brand new online archive AlbertEinstein.info, with Caltech playing a major role in the proceedings.

The idea is that logging onto the site will be like taking a walk through one of history's greatest minds.

Now, in one place, historians, students and ordinary curious folks can look up his speeches, his manuscripts, even a postcard to his sick mom — and a letter to his mistress.

Every document is fully searchable, and linked to the original printed version, as well as to the English translation (Einstein wrote in German).

A major portion of this material comes from Caltech’s Einstein Papers Project.

The actual website was created at the Hebrew University in Israel, where Einstein is a national hero and his birthday is marked as National Science Day.

And while this is an enormous collection, nobody, including the website itself, considers it complete. Anyone with knowledge of additional documents has been asked to get in touch.
