Props and Pints: It’s the 2014 'Know Your Ballot' party!

Californians have had to face long ballots in the past.  In 1990, voters were asked to vote on 45 measures, 28 in the general election, 17 in the primary election.  This year voters get a break with only six on the November ballot.  But all six make important policy changes, beginning with the first – a hard fought and politically charged water bond that will fund state water supply infrastructure projects to the tune of $7.12 billion. Following it on the ballot are five measures, including those calling for state approval of rate changes for health care insurance, state budget stabilization, and drug and alcohol testing of doctors.

With increasing complexity and sometimes misleading language, we have a monumental job just figuring out what each proposition and initiative means. Look no further! On Wednesday, October 29, Patt Morrison and her guests parsed the props and the politics behind them.
