Old Fashioned LA: Our love affair with classic cocktails
Frank Sinatra liked his Manhattan dry. James Bond’s martini must be shaken, not stirred. The Old Fashioned is Don Draper’s drink of choice. Following in the footsteps of such debonair gents, Angelenos have fallen back in love with these classic cocktails.
How did this happen? Do we blame – or thank – the economy? What makes a cocktail "classic," anyway? Is this resurgence here to stay… or is this comeback destined to dry up?
