Southern Californian Taiwanese, including those pictured in green jackets, have returned to the island to vote in the contest for president.

Taiwanese officials estimate thousands are flying from Southern California to Taiwan to vote in that country’s presidential election tomorrow.

Wendy Yang, a lawyer from Torrance, is in Taiwan rallying for the re-election of pro-independence president Tsai Ying Wen with 80 others from Southern California.

Herman Chen, a portfolio manager, also of Torrance, backs the president’s rival, Han Guo Yu, who wants warmer relations with China.
