We’re trying something new: reuniting people who are working in the arts and entertainment today with the teachers and mentors who changed their lives – people like Sanjay Patel and his high school art teacher, Julie Tabler.
Patel is an accomplished illustrator and animator. He's worked on animated hits including "Monsters, Inc." and "The Incredibles" films, and a short film he directed while at Pixar called "Sanjay’s Super Team" was nominated for an Oscar in 2016.

But before all of that, he was a quiet kid at San Bernardino High, sitting in the back of Tabler's art class.
We reunited the two of them at KPCC.

If you have a teacher who helped you grow as an artist and as a person, we want to hear about them. Let us know by filling out the form below. We’ll read every response, but nothing is published without your permission.
