#MakeAlCare: LA Mayor Eric Garcetti tells Al why voting matters in a new video

Al is an Angeleno unsure of why he should vote in the upcoming city elections. KPCC is doing a report on Al and whether or not he votes. Share your reasons why Al should care with #MakeAlCare.

Los Angeles County has the worst voter turnout in the state. As part of an effort to tackle voter apathy, we chose one person who doesn’t usually vote and we're trying to make him care about the March 3 primary elections in Los Angeles.

We've been trying really hard to #MakeAlCare. Candidates have been getting in on it, and now Al Gordon's mayor, Eric Garcetti, is joining in the effort with a video.

"Al, you've got to care man. Don't do it for me. If you care about yourself, vote," Garcetti says.

Watch Mayor Garcetti's video explaining to Al why he should care — and why Garcetti says he cares himself, and the effect that has on the city:

Tweet your reasons that Al should care with the hashtag #MakeAlCare, and keep following KPCC to see if Al votes on March 3.
