Walk Los Angeles — and 6 other cheap things to do this weekend

As you're (hopefully) finishing up your work, get excited — because it's Friday. This weekend we're hitting another local ice skating rink, overachieving on our holiday shopping and walking the entire city of Los Angeles. Come on, you can do it. Grab your wallet, tennis shoes and let's hit the town.

Here's everything you need to know:

1. See the fastest track cyclists in the country

The world of cycling returns to the Velo Sports Center for three days starting Friday. Watch the world's greatest cyclists — including L.A.'s very own WolfPack Hustle — battle it out on bikes. This weekend's Los Angeles Grand Prix (LAGP) is an opportunity for participants to qualify for the UCI World Cups.

2. Walk the Great Los Angeles Walk

Join this super ambitious group as they travel Sunset Boulevard to the famed Sunset Strip all the way to Wilshire Boulevard and on to the ocean. Did we mention this is all happening on foot? Saturday's Great Los Angeles Walk is "not a race," but rather a community walk, where participants can join in at any time. And local businesses will offer up discounts along the way.

The walk starts at Echo Park Lake

When: 9 a.m. Saturday but you can join in any time | Updates here

Price: Free | RSVP here

3. An 'electrifying' DTLA drive-in

Head out to Electric Dusk's drive-in and experience the old school charm of some of your favorite classic '80s films. This weekend's showing will include "The Breakfast Club" and "Back to the Future Part II."

Top comedians like Myq Kaplan from "Last Coming Standing" and Shawn Pearlman from "Tosh.0" will be there to keep your night squeaky clean. Drink a coffee before you go; there's a dance floor where patrons tend to seriously groove.
