Los Angeles police say a man has been shot and killed at a North Hollywood intersection.

The shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Vineland Avenue and Vanowen Street.

Officer Norma Eisenman says officers responding to a man-with-a-gun call arrived to find a man in the middle of the street.

Details are sketchy but Eisenman says officers shot and killed the man. She doesn't know what prompted the shooting. She says none of the officers involved was hurt.

Officials say the 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details are available.
